The Wealth of Contentment

Some chase for gold from shore to shore,
Yet always hunger still for even more.
Their barns grow full, their houses wide,
But emptiness is still living inside.

The richest soul is not the one
Whose treasures glitter in the sun.
True wealth is found in hearts at rest
That trust the Father knows what’s best.

Contentment does not mean we cease
To work with purpose, love, and peace.
It means we will graciously receive
The gifts God wisely chose to leave.

A crust of bread with thankful prayer
Can hold more joy than kings may share.
A humble home where love abides
Outshines the palace built on pride.

The Lord provides both small and great,
According to his perfect weight.
All he chooses to place in our hand
Will serve his good and gracious plan.

When blessings flow, we gladly give.
When trials come, we still can live
With steady trust that God remains
Far greater than our loss or gains.

Lord, teach my restless heart to see
The treasure found in eternity.
For true riches bloom and start
Within a thankful, yielded heart.
