The Man of Lawlessness
The leader of lawlessness and destruction is revealed, who opposes God and exalts himself above everything holy, assuming the highest place in the sanctuary, seeking worship as if he were God.
A shadow rises dark and grim,
With pride and blasphemy in him.
He lifts himself with boastful breath
Along the road that leads to death.
He scorns the Lord of truth and light
And claims for self the highest right.
What once was holy he defies
With lying wonders and disguise.
The world, deceived by dazzling show,
May follow where they should not go.
For evil often masks its dangerous snare
With promises that seem bright and fair.
Our God is neither blind nor weak,
Nor absent when the arrogant speak.
The Lord who rules the stars above
Still reigns with justice, truth, and love.
The darkness may for moments rise,
And spread deception through the skies,
But Christ will come with blazing flame
And end that prideful rebel’s reign.
So let our hearts stay fixed and true,
Not swayed by every shifting view.
Only Jesus is the King of kings,
To whom creation bows and sings.
