The Writer’s Race
Since countless storytellers before you have discovered the beauty of knowing God and using their gifts for his glory, don’t let distractions, fear, or selfish ambition hinder your writing journey. Keep moving forward with patience and endurance, knowing you are part of a much larger story. Faithful authors before you should remind you to stay faithful to God’s call for you to write.
The saints of old have run this road,
Through stormy nights and heavy loads.
With faithful hearts they chose to write,
Reflecting God’s eternal love and light.
So set aside any your fears the might arise
Like darkened clouds across your skies.
Don’t chase the praise of fleeting fame
While losing sight of God’s great name.
Cast off distractions one-by-one,
Keeping your eyes upon the Son.
The race is long. The path is steep.
Yet writing his stories will run deep.
Many have written through pain and tears,
Forever trusting God throughout the years.
Their stories say to you: “Do not stray.
Stay faithful in your work each day.”
When weary thoughts begin to creep
And doubts disturb a restful sleep,
Remember why you first began—
To serve the Author’s greater plan.
Your relentless writing will inspire,
Leading other to share your godly fire.
So write with patience, hope, and grace.
Keeping steady in your profitable race.
