Pajamas and Wi-Fi Church

Look for ways to motivate people to do acts of kindness, always showing love. Don’t be like some who fail to regularly meet together. Encourage one another more and more as the day of the Lord’s return approaches.
Hebrews 10:24–25 The Discussion Bible
Pajamas and Wi-Fi Church

The online church can help us to hear,
While coffee brews and snacks are near.
But slippers, screens, and a sofa seat
Do little to produce discipled feet.

A verse may flash upon the wall,
So big and bright, it blesses all.
But if that’s all the Bible that’s read,
Our souls will surely be underfed.

Sermons might encourage a fresh start,
But God’s voice fills the hungry heart.
We cannot live on crumbs and views,
Or Sunday’s nicely polished news.

At church, we see the same people each week.
We smile, we nod, and sometimes we speak.
We form our private circles, warm and tight,
And then we wonder why we need more light.

Hurting people need more than a wave,
More than, “Be blessed,” and “Do behave.”
They need someone who really does care,
With truth and loving kindness to share.

The church was never meant to be
A weekly show for saints to see.
We’re to surrender our hearts in prayer,
To learn, then go, and serve somewhere.

Let Scripture speak to you. Do not delay.
We want God to shape our hearts each day.
Then online or gathered, whether near or far,
We’ll shine for Christ right where we are.

That’s why we gather, learn, and grow,
So faith has hands and feet to show.
Not just to sit, connect, and cheer,
But serve the Lord while we are here.
