Write with Fire

Don’t procrastinate or think your call can wait till later,
For careless, drifting sentences nee to be made greater.
Take up your pen with passion burning bright each day,
And honor God through every line you choose to say.

When silence greets your labor and no praise appears,
Keep writing through the waiting and all the weary years.
The farmer trusts the hidden seed beneath the sod,
And writers plant in faith, leaving the results to God.

Let discipline become the drum’s steady beating sound,
While prayer and perseverance make good words abound.
A faithful heart keeps pressing when the climb feels steep,
For what the Lord has promised he will always keep.

Write not for fleeting applause that fades with time,
But seek to craft eternal truth in great prose and rhyme.
For God can use your stories, even fiery and wild,
To heal broken hearts and lead a wandering child.

So lift your weary eyes whenever hope seems dim,
And keep writing with joyful expectation in him.
When progress seems slow and dreams seem unclear,
God will use your words to make his love appear.
