Speed of Thought
Wise writers are eager to improve—listening, reading, and paying attention to their surroundings. They seek good advice and let the Lord guide their progress.

My TRS-80 hummed and blinked with greenish glow at night,
I poked at keys and watched my thoughts crawl slowly into sight.
Then came a 286 computer with a faster way to play.
Suddenly, my thoughts moved at a faster pace each day.
A new 386 computer arrived, doubling the previous pace,
Yet somehow all my thinking kept up in the faster race.
The quicker the computer, the more my mind could do,
And each burst of extra speed unlocked a fresher view.
With pencil, thoughts move so slowly, one step at a time.
Typing brought thoughts with a carriage return and chime.
With dictation, my words were racing like a train upon a track,
Before a lazy second-thought could call the engine back.
Now ChatGPT stands ready with an answer at hand,
Helping me connect the dots and better understand.
I gather facts and draw conclusions faster than before,
And leap into tomorrow through each new AI door.
The wisest writers keep on learning, watching, day by day.
They welcome helpful counsel and let God direct their way.
From Radio Shack beginnings to this age of AI light,
Tools that help me with my thoughts is part of doing right.
