Faith Under Fire
All who live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted in some way. Paul and Silas were praying and singing praises to God, loud enough for everyone in the prison to hear. Every person in the [jailor’s] house heard the message about Jesus and became his followers.

When trouble comes knocking, the Church doesn’t hide.
It straightens its shoulders and stands up with pride.
For faith that is tested grows sturdy and true.
Like gold in the furnace, it’s melted anew.
When laws try to hush it or lock every door,
The Gospel slips out and spreads even more.
People may be scattered, yet somehow they find,
That truth travels faster when hearts are aligned.
The rich may grow lazy, but pain makes us pray.
We lean on the Lord when in a desperate way.
Our comfort dissolves, yet his Spirit appears,
Turning trials to triumph and weakness to cheers.
When believers are persecuted and courage feels small,
The love of the faithful rises and unites them all.
They share what they have. They sing in the night.
Their hope burns even brighter for lack of much light.
The world shakes its head. “Why face such pain?”
But faith worth dying for will always remain.
For every believer who suffers or bleeds,
God turns persecution to testimony seeds.
So when darkness gathers and hearts feel the strain,
Remember… through fire, God fashions the gain.
The Church may be pressured, but it won’t expire.
It shines all the brighter with faith under fire.
