Beyond the Blessing

Make a total commitment to please him in all things, sacrificing everything you want so you may receive something better. Your reasonable service is giving 100 percent of yourself, more than just a tithe, a few worship songs, and verbal expressions of your love for him.
Romans 12:1 The Discussion Bible
Beyond the Blessing

Thank God for gifts his hands provide,
For daily bread and his grace applied.
Each blessing whispers, soft and true,
“The Lord is watching over you.”

Then praise him for his faithful ways,
His mercy bright in the darkest days.
Not just for what his hands have done,
But for the radiant glory of the Son.

Worship in spirit climbs a higher hill,
Where hearts bow and want God’s will.
We see his worth beyond all things,
And gladly serve the King of kings.

When pain arrives with hidden grace,
We can trust the care upon his face.
For what we would not choose to bear
May prove his love was working there.

The pearl of Heaven calls us near,
Providing comfort, calming our fear.
We gladly leave the lesser part,
To hold the treasure of his heart.

So let thanksgiving start the song.
Let praise arise both clear and strong.
Then worship him with life and will,
He’s worth our complete surrender still.
