No Worries

In grade school, I learned to worry. What if the teacher gave a pop quiz? Will anybody want to come to my birthday party? If my report card isn’t perfect, how will my parents react? As an adult, I became much smarter. I listed potential problems that covered many pages of worries, beginning with: What if this insane culture gets even worse? Now I’m learning that I don’t have to worry about what I can’t control. With God in control, I can dismiss most of those worries and focus my concern on what he would have me do right now.

Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have its own worries. Today’s problems are enough for today. — Matthew 6:34
