Held in Good Hands
Your eternal God will keep you safe, lifted up in his everlasting arms. He will cover you like a bird shelters its chicks with its wings. He will faithfully shield you from harm, keeping you safe.

We ask the Lord to take our pain,
To make us whole and strong again.
Yet he may see another part,
A hidden wound within the heart.
We feel the aching and all the strain.
God sees what lies beneath our pain.
Like one who mends an engine’s core,
He heals what outward signs ignore.
Some burdens leave when prayers arise,
While others stay despite our cries.
Yet grace can give us the strength to stand
Although answers aren’t what we planned.
Paul asked the Lord to set him free,
But he replied, “Depend on me.
“My grace is what you need today.
My presence is enough for the way.”
Our faith is not a claim we make
To gain a comfort we would take.
It trusts the One whose perfect sight
Can lead us through the darkest night.
Our body fades like morning dew,
But Christ within makes spirits new.
He heals the guilt that sin imparts,
Binding wounds of broken hearts.
We often tell the Lord our need,
Then expect him hastily to proceed.
But what we want may not restore
The abundant life he has in store.
So let us pray as Jesus prayed
When sorrow’s heavy cup was laid:
“Not my will but your will be done.
I trust you, Father, through your Son.”
Surrender first may feel like loss,
A heavy burden or painful cross.
But open hands are free to hold
The gifts of God worth more than gold.
When earthly answers bring no cure,
His presence helps us to endure.
The fire may burn. The storm may rise.
But God remains both good and wise.
Those waiting on the Lord shall find
New strength within their heart and mind.
Like eagles lifted high in the skies,
They rest upon his strength and rise.
Beneath his wings, our fears can cease.
His shelter brings restoring peace.
The Sun of Righteousness appears,
With healing for our wounds and tears.
The greatest healing we can know
Is letting Christ transform and grow
A heart that trusts through joy or pain
And knows that suffering isn’t in vain.
Great Physician, search us through.
Reveal the work you long to do.
Heal what we cannot understand,
And keep us safely in your hand.
