Week 5/30/25

Frank’s Random Thoughts for the Week

Keep what you like as your own. Discard the rest.

  • To have great thoughts, we need the mind of Christ.
  • Our society that loves its sleeping pills would do well to wake up and hear what God is saying now.
  • When looking for a mentor, God is our best choice.
  • Improvement is having less of anything I want when it might conflict with something God wants so I can have more of everything he wants.
  • We need not worry about our weaknesses when we have the Lord who is our strength.
  • God’s foundation beneath the surface must be finished before the next stage of his work, now visible, can be seen by those with eyes wide open.
  • We should want to be a blending voice in God’s heavenly choir, not a standout.
  • Coveting what others have is a dangerous desire for something other than the glory that God has in store for us.
  • Pay attention to the little things because they are bigger than you think.
  • Everybody has a dictionary full of words, but we need God’s help to arrange them in a message that will help others.
  • When we get to the end of our rope, it’s time to let go and grab the Lord’s hand.
  • With the Lord, we drive straight forward, without need for a rearview mirror to bring the past with us.
  • Feasting at the Lord’s table should give us strength to do his work.
  • One of the most difficult communication skills that must be learned is when to be quiet, not saying anything.
  • Safety isn’t escape from the storm. It’s having Jesus with us, so the storm doesn’t matter.
  • When everything is going wrong, we have no better place to turn but to the Lord, who can make everything right.
  • The problems in our lives are too big for us to move by ourselves, but God moves mountains.
  • If we don’t know what we really need, then we must look to God for help, because otherwise, we can’t know what we’re looking for, let alone where to look.
  • Having what we want is happiness short-lived, but the joy of the Lord is an everlasting treasure.
  • Praying for more has little value when we’ve not yet put to good use the gifts and talents we already have.
  • The more we have, the more we need God’s help to use our abundance of gifts for his glory.
  • Whatever God wants is my great pleasure, because whatever God doesn’t want is my great displeasure.
  • We can choose not to complain—because we have plenty of reasons to be thankful.
  • The more we can treasure God’s presence, the more we are positioned to be trained and transformed to who God wants us to be.
  • The opportunities to help others are endless—but only if we’re looking for them.
  • Seeing our world from a perspective other than our own is virtually impossible without the help of God who sees all things.
