Week 3/21/25

Frank’s Random Thoughts for the Week

Keep what you like as your own. Discard the rest.

  • We should be thankful for our scars left by the wounds that brought us closer to the Lord.
  • Walking with the Lord, we can have perfect peace because we don’t have to worry about the future or be concerned about the past.
  • In Christ, the more we give, the more we have to give.
  • God’s peace defies understanding, because it is a spiritual gift that is not dependent upon human observation.
  • Trusting God becomes easy when we get to know him really well.
  • Those who don’t know God but say, “It’s good to be alive,” cannot imagine what it would be like to be in Christ, really alive.
  • Our expectations work against us when God has a better plan.
  • The great treasures from our heart are worthless for as long as they remain locked within, the words not yet spoken to help others.
  • Waiting upon the Lord is walking with him as he leads, not running ahead or lagging behind.
  • We pray without ceasing, not to have our way, but to take advantage of every opportunity to encourage others to know the Lord.
  • The proof of our faith is in getting whatever God wants, not in getting what we want.
  • The idea that we can have our dreams is foolishness—unless they reveal where God wants to take us.
  • We do well not to complain when God gives us what we think we do not need.
  • Not knowing what lies ahead, we can still be excited beyond words when we know we are living in the center of God’s will.
  • The unbeliever’s dilemma isn’t a lack of belief, but it is the need to dispel misbelief.
  • Your story will be the evidence of God’s glory, if you allow his light to shine from within you, every step of the way.
  • Good works are actually dead works when they are self-driven, not God-driven.
  • Besides all who God is, there is all who God is not, which would be those who are like Satan, who love themselves at the expense of others.
  • Inspiration is easily found, but only if we are looking in all the right places.
  • When we surrender our will to God, putting our future in his hands, we need only be concerned with what he would have us do today.
  • If the Bible is an instruction book, we need the Holy Spirit to understand what it says.
  • Embrace the dawn, because it presents an opportunity to accomplish something you’ve never been able to do before.
  • With self-direction, I am sure to wind up in trouble because I can’t see what God sees.
  • Since God is an inexhaustible resource, the only way we can have too much of him is failure to give.
  • Our vision can be a distraction, but God’s vision will take us where we really need to go.
  • Since we are naturally so inept at self-improvement, we should constantly look for God’s help to make us who he wants us to be.
