Writing in Jesus’ Name

Why am I discouraged? Why do I feel stuck? My hope is in you, Lord. You are my creative resource as I write, so I will trust and praise you. — Psalm 42:11 Scripture for Writers

When writing feels heavy and hope’s running thin
And you stare at the page, wondering where to begin,
Remember, dear writer, that with Jesus you can start,
And he’ll help you with words that flow from the heart.

Don’t look for your hope in applause or a prize,
For numbers and comments can fool weary eyes.
True hope comes only from the Jesus above—
Who fills you with purpose and covers with love.

Faith helps you start when you cannot see how,
Hope keeps going when doubts won’t say, “Wow!”
Faith pleases the Lord as you follow his call.
Hope helps you enjoy every step, big or small.

Whenever you think you’re at the end of your rope,
Remember that helpless still leaves room for hope.
For Jesus works for good in all you can’t see—
And can turn every setback into sweet victory.

So write when you’re tired. Write when you sigh.
Write when your courage feels ready to die.
For Christ is the strength you can always claim—
As he guides everything that you write in his name.
