I once had a wish. Oh, it sparkled and shined.
It bounced in my heart and danced in my mind.
But then came a whisper, so gentle and true,
“Does your wish match what I’ve planned for you?”
For God has a will that is perfect and right.
It leads us through darkness. It lifts us in light.
When my wants and his wants are walking in sync,
My plans find their purpose much quicker, I think.
So now when I dream, I invite him to steer,
To guide every step and make my path clear.
For the plans that succeed are the ones he has willed,
And the heart lined with his will is fully fulfilled.
