When Answers Hide

God’s glory is in concealing things, and the glory of great leaders is discovering those secrets. — Proverbs 25:2 The Discussion Bible

John asked and searched and Googled all day.
He clicked every link in the most logical way.
He tried this answer and that—ruling out a few,
Yet his problems left him wondering what to do.

One answer worked yesterday, but now what?
Something was wrong, a new battle to be fought.
He poked it and prodded and said, “Why you?”
But it gave no clue what he was supposed to do.

He said, “Holy Spirit, please show me the way.”
But God seemed to nod with nothing to say.
Sometimes God whispers. Sometimes he waits.
He was letting John’s questions just sit by the gates.

John wanted answers, and he wanted them now.
Tomorrow was too late to learn what and how.
But God said, “You must trust while you wait.
My answers will arrive in due time—never late.”

When John’s logic ran out and the math didn’t fit,
Reasoning said, “Stop,” but faith said, “You can’t quit.”
Remember that God’s ways might baffle the crew—
But the impossible might be exactly what’s true.

So keep seeking the truth when the trail feels amiss.
Trust God with the puzzle, the pause, and the twist.
For answers may linger beyond what we see,
But truth will appear when it’s meant to be.
