A lamp was lit with purpose clear,
Not forged for shade or silent fear,
Yet many set it low and small,
Behind the wall, not seen at all.
The dark grows bold where light is shy,
Where truth is hushed and hope walks by.
Not every glow must roar or flare—
But none were made to hide in prayer.
A single small flame can brighten the night,
Defining the shadows apart from the light.
It doesn’t curse the dark with spite—
It simply is, and that is God’s might.
So stand apart, not proud, but plain,
A radiant glow in the wind and rain.
Let kindness show. Let truth take form,
Calming hearts in the midst of the storm.
You were not lit to blend or bend,
Or dim yourself so you won’t offend.
Lift up your lamp. Cause shadows to flee.
Be the world’s light. That’s how it should be.
