You’ve got some big dreams and a keyboard at hand,
But you’re not quite sure where you’re meant to land.
You highlight, edit, rewrite, type … and then stop.
You wonder if writing will take you to the top.
Some folks find their path when they’re barely age two.
They know they’re gifted and what they want to do.
They play with a scalpel, or drum, or a chart.
They chase their one passion with all of their heart!
But many of us wander. We zig and we zag.
We chase shiny dreams till they weaken and sag.
We try on some hats, and we slip into shoes.
We win a few moments, but sometimes we lose.
We may write in rhyme or long fiction or prose,
Or quietly write stories that nobody knows.
We may fix up a sermon, a speech, or a song—
Or journal our journey about things gone wrong.
Writers might not feel famous or clever or wise.
The might get a hundred rejection replies.
But writing’s not just about gaining applause—
It’s chasing God’s whisper, his vision, his cause.
God is a planner, a plotter and a guide.
He places his purpose and gift deep inside.
Although you may feel like your path isn’t clear,
But your calling is coming. He wants to come near.
Your specialty isn’t a label or tag.
It’s not a ribbon, a trophy, or flag.
It’s how you express what God’s planted in you,
With honesty, wonder, and words that ring true.
The world may cheer or stay silent and still,
But Heaven takes note when you write God’s will.
You don’t need applause, a platform, or fame.
Just write from your heart in the his holy name.
So keep on composing with joy and with grace.
Your purpose is shaped in each sentence you chase.
Maybe you won’t know your specialty’s name,
But his work in you is special, just the same.
