Do you remember what the old saying is about?
The adage simply says, “Garbage in. Garbage out.”
Well let’s tip that old phrase and give it a shove—
Because better things happen with care and love.
For what if instead of having garbage to show,
We used bad stuff so something good would grow?
Not trash in, trash out. That’s dull and rather plain—
But trash in, treasure out, could come from our strain.
Or picture some coal, black, dusty, and plain,
Squeezed tight by the earth with pressure and pain.
Add heat and add time. Don’t rush it or pout.
See the sparkle? Oh, my! A diamond pops out.
So don’t fear the process, the tension, the press,
The moments that feel like a cluttered mess.
For God takes the ordinary, the broken and bent,
And helps our writing to become heaven-sent.
So feed your heart wisely. Choose truth over doubt.
Let heaven work in you … from the inside out.
With God in the mix, we have a different story.
The garbage going in brings glory upon glory.
