Peculiar People

You are a chosen people of the royal order, a pure and holy multitude in a unique position to exalt the one who has brought you out of darkness into his marvelous light. — 1 Peter 2:9 The Discussion Bible

We’re quirky. We’re different, odd as can be,
Not copies or clones but uniquely set free.
No two of us are the same, like leaves on a tree,
God made us peculiar. Just wait! You’ll see.

Some hop when they walk. Others whistle all day.
People may laugh in a quirky and wobbly way.
We may doodle on paper or sing in the rain,
But all of our strangeness has a heavenly gain.

God wisely gave us different ways to shine.
Like puzzle-piece, we’re unique by design.
So wave your peculiar. Don’t hide it away,
It’s meant to bring joy in a colorful way.

Some say, “Normal is best, you should know.”
But being alike is boring. So onward we’ll go—
A people peculiar, with laughter and cheer,
Created by God with differences so clear.
