On-Time Giver

Recognize God as the abundant supplier of all you need when you need it. Don’t hoard extra for a rainy day, but share from your present abundance and God will provide for the rain when it comes. — 2 Corinthians 9:8 The Discussion Bible

Oh, God is a giver, so grand and so great.
He gives what you need, and he’s never late.
When you need a good thing, it’s ready to send.
His giving won’t stop, and his love won’t end.

But here’s the big trick that’s a bit hard to say:
Don’t hoard all your stuff for a faraway day.
Don’t stash it and stack it and pile it up high.
Don’t worry or fret. Don’t sigh or ask why.

God’s provisions you have are meant to be shared,
With a friend or a stranger to know that you cared.
When rain starts to fall and you’re out getting wet,
God will bring what you need. Yes, that’s a sure bet.

You don’t need a mountain, a storeroom, or shed.
You don’t need to panic or live full of dread.
He gives what you need—just enough for today,
And more will keep coming in his perfect way.

So give with a grin. Don’t worry or hide.
God’s the supplier who walks by your side.
When rain starts to pour, don’t fearfully run.
God sends what you need. In his way, it’s done.
