Not by Our Might or Sight, but God

“O Lord God,” Samson prayed, “remember me and give me strength once more.” Those who put their trust in the Lord will find strength in him. — Judges 16:28; Isaiah 40:31 The Discussion Bible

There once was a man with remarkable might,
Who fought in the dark and conquered by light.
He stumbled and fell when his heart was confused—
Yet God wasn’t finished. His strength was still used.

He followed his eyes and not what was right.
He wrestled with passion and lost a fight.
Despite his flaws, God’s promise stayed true—
A plan unfolded that Samson never knew.

For sin may deceive and pride may mislead,
But God can bring purpose even with weeds.
He turns our mistakes into mercy displayed,
A garden of grace from the messes we’ve made.

The enemy laughed when Samson was blind,
But God saw a faith the world couldn’t find.
A sinner in chains with a heart newly bruised—
Still lifted the pillars, still mightily used.

So don’t let your failures say you’re through.
God can write his redemption in all that you do.
The strong aren’t the perfect. They’re simply the tried—
The ones who fell down … but are called on God’s side.
