“Without a doubt,” Peter said, “I am convinced that God has no favorites among people, but in every nation, God accepts those who fear him and are doing what is right. — Acts 10:34–35 The Discussion Bible

In lands far away where the idols might grin,
Where nobody knew what was righteous or sin,
God whispered his truth with a wink and a nudge—
For his voice prevailed over every label or judge.

He spoke to Abimelech, “Now listen to me.
That woman is married. Return her, you see.”
Though Abimelech bowed to a god made of stone,
The Lord still corrected him straight to the bone.

To Laban, the trickster who cheated and schemed,
God warned in a dream—just as Jacob had dreamed.
Although that man adored his little idols of gold,
“Don’t you harm Jacob,” is what Laban was told.

To Balaam, a prophet whose motives were bent,
God spoke through a donkey he specially sent.
That man was a pagan, a sorcerer, selfish and proud—
Yet God spoke to him, his voice strong and loud.

To Pharaoh sitting on Egypt’s mighty throne,
God sent two dreams of the seeds to be sown.
Although Pharaoh worshiped a dozen gods or more,
The Lord made him tremble at the famine in store.

Nebuchadnezzar, who boasted with an arrogant flair,
Dreamed of trees touching the sky high up in the air.
Yet he was sent a message, “Your pride must come down,”
Until he learned that God was supreme over every crown.

Belshazzar feasted with mockery wild—
Until God wrote a message frightening the child.
A hand in the darkness with words on the wall—
To show that even pagans must answer his call.

God warned the Magi, with stargazing eyes,
By giving a dream with a heavenly surprise:
“Don’t go back to Herod. His motives aren’t right.”
And they escaped from Judea, vanishing by night.

God nudged Pilate’s wife with a dream sharp and clear:
“That righteous man is innocent. Don’t interfere.”
He gave this warning to one not in the Jewish fold,
A message so strong and clear that it had to be told.

To Cornelius, a soldier who kneeled in respect,
God sent an angel with detailed orders direct.
“This message,” God said, “is for Gentiles too.”
For God’s open door is for more people than you.

Saul was breathing threats with a furious shove,
When he was stopped by Jesus in words from above.
Though fighting Christians with rage burning hot,
He heard his voice—and was changed on the spot.

So here is the lesson, the truth shining through:
God speaks non-club members, not just the few.
No “exclusive club” keeps his voice locked inside.
He calls all nations, every heart far and wide.

For God is not hindered by birthplace or clan.
He speaks to each sinner—child, woman, or man.
His whisper breaks boundaries. His message is love—
For all can be touched by his voice from above.
