Mystery of Tomorrow

Bragging about tomorrow is foolish since you don’t know what will happen. — Proverbs 27:1 The Discussion Bible

Oh, boasting about tomorrow is a slippery, silly game,
You can’t really know what twists may stake their claim.
Today’s the only promise that you’re certain you can keep.
Tomorrow may go strolling while you’re fast asleep.

You might proudly holler, “Just you wait. You’ll see me shine.”
But tomorrow can turn and tumble like a wiggly, crooked line.
So live the day God gave you. Make it count in every way.
Don’t worry about tomorrow. That’s a boast that can’t obey.

Be wise with all your planning. Sure, prepare and do your best.
But leave the future in God’s hands and let your heart find rest.
Life can change so quickly, like the flip of just one page.
So walk with humble wonder in each surprise as you age.
