Master Plan

Pay close attention to how you move forward as a writer. Choose your steps carefully, with wisdom rather than impulse. Time is limited, and the opportunities you’re given matter—especially in a world that easily distracts and misleads. Don’t rush ahead without reflection. Instead, keep seeking clarity about what the Lord is asking you to write, when to write it, and how to use your words faithfully. Ephesians 5:15–18 Scripture for Writers

A student forever. Hip-hip-hooray!
I’d ask and I’d wonder and circle and chew
On questions that led to hundreds more too.

I loved how ideas would pop and then spark.
I’d wander through answers until after dark.
If learning were oceans, I’d happily swim,
With waves of “Why?” washing up to my chin.

But now there are screens. There’s wisdom galore.
Thousands of lessons pop up. Every day, there’s more.
With AI and websites and knowledge galactic,
My curiosity feast is both thrilling and frantic.

There’s simply no time to learn all that I can,
To watch every video and master each plan.
So learning must now shift how it’s done—
Not learning to know but learning to run.

I must choose what to study, what helps me today,
What helps me with work that won’t wander away.
I learn what I need, what I’m able to do—
The things that keep me faithful and true.

So I still love the questions, the wonder, the spark,
But now I need lanterns, not trails through the dark.
For wisdom’s not learning the most that you can.
It’s knowing what matters and following God’s plan.
