Light for the Night

Your Word is a lamp to keep my feet from stumbling, a light that shines before me to show the way you want me to go. — Psalm 119:105 The Discussion Bible

When the road becomes twisty, all foggy and black,
And I look for direction like a train off its track,
I don’t need a map or a compass or chart.
I do need God’s Word tucked deep in my heart.

It’s a lamp to my feet, so I don’t trip or fall.
The light in the night give me no fear at all.
When I’m faced with a choice and unsure of the way,
His Word lights my path and says, “Go! Don’t delay.”

It shines through the shadows and shows me the road,
It lifts every burden and lightens my load.
When I’m scared of the dark and worry for the day,
God’s Word guides my steps, showing me the way.

I’ll follow the bright light wherever I tread,
Through trouble or triumph, wherever I’m led.
For whether it’s mountains high or valleys low,
God’s Word is my guide wherever I go.
