We walk with the Lord, delighted to be at his side,
Not dragging our feet, nor pulling ahead with pride.
He’s the leader in this journey. He sets the pace.
My choice to be with him keeps me in his grace.
A simple touch isn’t bonding. Spoken words aren’t glue.
Our unwavering choice is to be joined all the way through.
Like boards held together when fastened just right,
We’re joined by commitment, not merely by sight.
Some walk together for a moment, then wander away.
They’re like clouds drifting off on a bright summer day.
But those who hold tightly to God, no matter the storm,
Will find that his presence will keep their hearts warm.
The spirit says go, but the flesh says, “Not yet.”
The mind draws up plans, and emotions get upset.
The war in our hearts can be a battle each day,
But our love for the Lord takes us the right way.
With people, connections may wobble and shift.
Some friendships may crumble like sand dunes adrift.
But when God is the center of hearts joined as one,
The bond will grow stronger and never be undone.
Jesus has revealed to us the depth of his care.
He died for connections we’re all meant to share.
So hold to his hand when the waves rise and roar,
And he’ll keep from sinking, bringing us to shore.
Keep walking with the Lord, faithful and true.
He has chosen forever to stay there with you.
When the race ends and the journey is done,
The connection remains, for the victory is won.
