I don’t have a clue, not a thought in my head,
The plans that I made have run away instead.
Some days I do much. Then the next, I do none.
But each day with God is a great day that’s begun.
I wish I could know, but I stumble and guess,
Confusing my wisdom with my foolishness.
“Ignorance is bliss,” some people declare,
But truth from God is the answer to prayer.
I fumble, I wonder, I ask, and I wait.
God’s timing is perfect, though it often feels late.
One step at a time is the way I must go,
For only the Lord sees the path I don’t know.
My pain and my doubts like to slow me each day,
But God can still carry me all of the way.
I may not be smart, but I’m learning it’s true:
The less that I know, Lord, the more I need you.
