Help in the Morning

Lord, be kind to us, for we have patiently waited for your coming. Be our arm of strength each morning, our salvation in times of distress. — Isaiah 33:2 The Discussion Bible

Oh Lord, I’ve been waiting—oh, waiting so long.
I’ve sung it. I’ve prayed it. I’ve hoped with a song.
I’ve patiently waited, my heart lifted high.
I look up to you as the days pass by.

Be kind to me, Lord. I am watching for you.
I’ve waited and waited. What else can I do?
Be my strong arm when the morning begins,
When sunlight comes dancing and dawn first spins.

When troubles come knocking and mess with my day,
Be my salvation and my helper along the way.
When storms start to rumble and fears start to grow,
Come steady my heart, Lord. Don’t let me go.

Oh come in your kindness. Come near. Don’t delay.
I’ve waited and waited. Please come right away.
I trust you. I need you. I patiently wait.
Be my help in the morning. Please don’t be late.
