I surrendered my heart to listen each day,
To the whisper of God in a Spirit-led way.
I chose not to chase after loud, flashy things,
But to follow the call of the King of all kings.
The flesh had its tantrums, its grumbles, its schemes,
But the Spirit brought peace and wonderful dreams.
No need to feel guilty, no reason to fear,
For with him as my guide, he always is near.
I don’t strive for pleasure, for pride, or for show,
But follow the Shepherd wherever he goes.
My joy doesn’t come from the things that decay.
I love walking with Jesus, day after day.
So when I feel heavy, like shame’s weighing in,
I turn to his truth: I’ve been freed from my sin.
I’m not a wanderer who is lost in the night.
I’m a child of the King, and I walk in his light.
No guilt and no shame, no harsh voice inside,
For the Holy Spirit is my GPS kind of guide.
Though sin tried to mark me and darken my name,
Grace wrapped me in love like a bright, holy flame.
I dance in his freedom. I can leap like a lamb,
For I’m held by the promise of the Great “I Am.”
He’s with me, within me. He won’t let me fall.
I walk in his Spirit, and grow through it all.
