As far as the sunrise from sunset will go,
That’s how far our sins have been tossed, don’t you know?
They’re gone and forgotten, not hiding nearby.
They’re out past the reach of the farthest blue sky.
The Lord in his mercy has carried them far,
Past moonlight and starlight and each distant star.
If east could be west, they might meet in a day—
But east stays in the east, and west stays away.
So thank the good Lord for this marvelous feat.
Our sins are wiped away. Yes, he does the delete.
Forever forgiven, we’re washed clean and new,
Transformed by the love of a God who is true.
