You won’t chase desires that puff up your pride,
You’ll care for the others who walk by your side.
The Spirit says “Love” while your self says “Me first.”
One leads to blessing, the other? The worst.
They tug and they pull like a rope in a fight,
But only one path will lead you to the light.
When you listen inside and you follow what’s true,
You’ll know what is right in the things that you do.
But if selfish desires start to block Heaven’s view,
You’ll feel torn in two, not sure what to do.
So don’t let your ego sit up on the throne.
God’s Spirit will guide you. You’re never alone.
Say yes to his whisper and say no to the fuss,
And you’ll live with his purpose, his power, his trust.
