A strange thing happens when you help someone.
The giver turns out to be the most-blessed one.
For answers you give come circling through,
And teach you the lessons that strengthen you too.
If you share what you know, encourage, uplift,
You will soon discover your heavenly gift.
The more that you pour, the more you’ll receive,
For God keeps supplying to those who believe.
Sometimes God lets us go our own way,
To trip on the stones we ignored yesterday—
Not out of anger or spite or neglect,
But to show us the wisdom of introspect.
For every mistake, when placed in his hand,
Becomes a new lesson to help us stand.
Like Israel wandering, forty years so long,
Their weakness became where he proved strong.
We don’t need long speeches or an eloquent tone.
Just whisper his name. He’ll make himself known.
With every decision, both trivial and grand,
He’s right there beside you, extending his hand.
God’s goal isn’t comfort or easy delight.
He’s shaping our hearts to walk in his light.
He helps us accomplish the plans he designed,
So our strength and his purpose are sweetly aligned.
So lift someone’s burden and watch yours grow light.
Sow kindness in their valleys and grow to new heights.
For every hand you steady, God steadies you as well.
In giving, we are given his unique ways to excel.
