We don’t know what we don’t know. Isn’t that true?
It surprises the old folks, young ones, and me too.
Our brains miss the clues that are sneaky and sly,
And that’s when the tricksters come creeping on by.
I’m shocked and amazed how the gullible folk
Get snatched by a scammer with one little poke.
They lose all their savings. Oh mercy, oh my.
To a prince from Slobovia who just happened by.
“Dear sir,” says the email, “I’m noble and grand.
I’ve treasure of trillions of gold in the sand.
Just send twenty thousand to free up my loot,
And half will be yours.” Well, isn’t that cute?
But now with AI and its magical new tricks,
These scammers use bots with deceptive clicks.
They copy your vendors and mimic your friends.
Their messages look like the real ones they send.
They look fully legit, with a shiny clean seal,
Sounding like your supplier. “Just pay for this deal.”
But hidden inside is a fraudster’s demand,
A digital pickpocket who’s shaking your hand.
So watch every message, each ping, link, or note.
Check headers and senders before you devote.
For the world is full of sham after sham sent with a glow.
We don’t know what we don’t know. The scammers know so.
