Flexibility

Commit your writing to the Lord, and your message will touch people’s hearts. — Proverbs 16:3 Scripture for Writers

When writing a story, a poem, or song,
Be willing to change if the phrasing feels wrong.
Be flexible, ready to adjust. Let edits refine,
But firm on truth that God plants in each line.

A rut is just scribbling the same tired way.
A groove is a rhythm that brightens the day.
Don’t fear a revision. Don’t shun something new.
Growth as a writer calls for learning too.

Your first thought may sparkle, or maybe be flat.
Weigh words with prayer so God can polish that.
The Spirit may whisper a shift in your plot,
Stay flexible, for his guidance means a lot.

Self-doubt says, “I’m useless.” Pride says, “I’m the best.”
But God-confidence steadies and accepts every test.
Write with his leading, both steady and free.
Your words can hold power for an eternity.

A stiff, stubborn draft may refuse to be changed,
But flexible writing can be wisely rearranged.
So hold to the message God gives you to share,
But polish with patience, precision, and care.
