I know I’m a bit of an odd little bird,
But I’ve lived many years—and here’s what I’ve heard:
Each morning, I rise with just what I need,
No extra, no shortage, just grace for each deed.
I’ve never once lacked for the task at hand,
When following God’s good and wonderful plan.
Not riches, nor fame, nor a calendar stacked—
Just daily provision, and nothing I lacked.
Some ask, “Wouldn’t more help you hustle and climb?”
But why would I rush what is not in God’s time?
Why beg for the tools to build castles in air,
If God didn’t send me to go working there?
No sense in stockpiling hours or gold,
To chase after things that don’t fit his mold.
The Lord gives me just what he wants me to do—
Not more, not less, but exactly what’s true.
So call me strange, but I’m content, come what may,
With enough from the Lord for just this one day.
Tomorrow’s not mine, and yesterday is through.
Today is a gift, and right now, enough will do.
