Dust Free

On Earth, everyone has a body that came from dust and returns to dust. But in Heaven, our spiritual bodies will be like Christ. — 1 Corinthians 15:48

We walk on the earth made of dust and clay.
Our bodies grow weak and tired by the day.
But dust is not doom, the end of getting old—
For one day we’ll rise and shine like gold.

This shell that we live in is fragile and small,
It can bend and break. It can trip and fall.
Yet Heaven will clothe us in splendor so bright,
Our new form will sparkle in Christ’s holy light.

No aches, no pains, no weary sighs,
No tears will be left to dim our eyes.
The dust of the earth will stay behind—
And only God’s image will fill our mind.

So while we are here, we’ll do our best,
To love, to serve, and to pass each test.
Although we are dust, radiant we’ll be,
Forever alive, like Christ—dust-free.
