Carried by God’s Word

As I heard your voice and devoured your words, I delighted in your message and discovered the joy of sharing your truth. As part of your family, Lord God Almighty, I am called by your name. — Jeremiah 15:16 The Discussion Bible

I sat at my desk with a grin on my face,
Determined to write at a champion’s pace.
“I’ll finish my book,” I said with a cheer—
Then I got lazy and mostly wasted the year.

I tried to stay focused, wanting to give my all,
But distractions kept making their tempting call.
My willpower crumbled like sand in a breeze—
Distracted by TV, with naps and nacho cheese.

I told myself, Keep pushing. You can get this done.
But the great scenes didn’t come, not even one.
I stared at the screen and tried not to yawn.
My dreams of a novel were almost gone.

Then quietly, softly, a thought came to mind.
Perhaps you need the One who’s loving and kind.
I whispered a prayer about what I had planned.
Strange things happened as I moved my hands.

The plot wasn’t perfect. My pacing felt slow.
But the words had heart, with purpose and glow.
I wrote from a place that was deeper than me.
The flow from God’s presence brought liberty.

Some days I still wander or wrestle or stall,
But now when I stumble, I don’t fear the fall.
I write with his purpose, not just for a win—
And that’s when the really great stories begin.

So if you feel tired, or stuck in a loop,
Remember you’re part of an important group.
Because we have vision, we keep going, they say,
Writing for the Lord because there’s no better way.

Not powered by hustle or magical tricks—
We surrender our hands to Spirit-filled clicks.
For writing’s not just what your will says to do.
It’s walking with God till his words carry you.
