Beating the Big Freeze

Because evil will flourish, most people’s love will grow cold. But those who remain faithful until the end will be saved. — Matthew 24:13–14 The Discussion Bible

In a world full of trouble, where evil will grow,
Where hearts can grow colder than fresh-fallen snow,
Where kindness is rare and where love can decay,
Some people give up. They just walk away.

But wait! There’s a secret, a path you must find,
A way to keep warmth in your heart and your mind.
When others grow distant, when many grow cold,
The faithful will shine—brave, loving, and bold.

The world may get rough. It may tumble and bend.
But those who stay faithful will win in the end.
Just cling to your purpose. Stay steady. Hold on tight,
Keep walking with courage. Keep choosing what’s right.

Though darkness will flourish, though cold winds will bite,
Your love can keep burning. Your heart can stay bright.
No, don’t lose your fire. Don’t fade. Don’t delay.
Be faithful. Be fearless. And finish the way.

When you hold fast through the storm and the test,
You’ll find in the end that you’re truly most blessed.
So here’s what to do, both for me and for you:
Stay warm. Stay strong. And always stay true.
