Be kindly. Be kindly. That’s what you must do.
Put others in front. Yes, more than a few.
Let their needs come first. Let their joys be your aim.
And don’t grumble or mumble or play the blame game.
Don’t slouch in your work. Don’t just barely try.
Don’t say, “I’m busy, so I’ll just pass on by.”
Be zippy. Be zealous. Be bright in your care.
And serve with a sparkle like joy’s in the air.
The Lord loves a heart that is eager and true,
That works with a grin and sees tough things through.
Rejoice in your trials. Don’t sulk or despair.
But hope, and endure, and keep lifting in prayer.
So when folks are hurting or stuck in a mess,
Be quick to be kind and want to say yes.
With diligence, patience, and joy in your soul,
You’ll shine like a light, as the Lord makes you whole.
