I once tried to measure how wide love could be,
I stretched out my ruler from sea unto sea.
But love kept on going. It laughed at my line,
Saying, “Child, this love is completely divine.”
I tried to weigh mercy, how heavy or deep,
But grace overflowed till it buried the heap.
Its height touched the heavens, its depth reached below,
It covered all places that mortals could go.
I tried to describe it with words that I knew,
But language grew weary and meanings fell through.
For love isn’t studied—it’s lived and it’s felt,
It changes your heart till your pride starts to melt.
When God’s Holy Spirit moves into your chest,
You’ll find there’s no limit to peace or to rest.
You’ll know—not by reason, but joy from above—
The fullness of God and the boundless of love.
