Clouds Blown Away

The Lord gives adversity for bread and affliction for drink, but he will not allow your teacher to be hidden. You will see your teacher face-to-face. You will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way to go. Walk in that direction,” and you will turn to the right or left as you are led. — Isaiah 30:20–21 The Discussion Bible

When life hands you troubles like soup in a bowl,
And the day feels as chewy as lukewarm coal,
God won’t hide your Teacher or lead you astray.
He will walk beside you and show you the way.

The noise of the world makes your thinking go gray,
Like a muddle of puzzles all thrown into the way.
But quiet your heart and the whispers appear—
A still, gentle voice saying, “Child, I am near.”

You’ll hear him whisper, “Go this way. Don’t fear.”
You should go his way. He’ll make your path clear.”
Just follow his voice when you don’t understand,
For God is the Guide with the very best plan.

So when you feel lost and thoughts start to spin,
Let God clear away the fog. Invite his light in.
For clarity blooms when we trust and obey—
And confusion drifts off like a cloud blown away.
