To enter God’s Kingdom, so peaceful and bright,
We don’t need fine clothing or muscle or might.
Something much sweeter is needed instead—
A childlike humility in our hearts and our heads.
Grownups walk with their pride standing tall,
But children stay humble, not haughty at all.
They trust without fretting. They smile without fear.
Their faith simply says, “Lord, I know you are near.”
Kids laugh at raindrops and dance in the breeze,
Saying, “Lead me, Jesus,” with innocent ease.
They don’t overthink or get tangled up inside.
They delight in him. His desires are their guide.
Grownups grow fussy and fretful and fight,
And try to earn Heaven by doing things right.
Yet Jesus says gently, “My Kingdom you’ll miss.
Trust and obey like a child—yes, be like this.”
So loosen your worries. Release all your schemes.
And enter God’s presence with childlike dreams.
For Heaven will open its gates up above
To hearts full of trust and unburdened love.
