Godly Sends or Worldly Trends

As Peter said and others agreed: “Our writing must obey God’s leading, not follow the demands of the marketplace.” — Acts 5:29 Scripture for Writers

The Amish were in. Then the Vampires took flight.
Next, an Amish vampire book came out overnight.
But chasing what’s hot is a game that will fade.
By the time you arrive, a new fad’s been made.

You can follow the crowd, or you can take heed,
And write what the Spirit has planted as seed.
Stories from Heaven will bloom where they’re sown,
While copies and echoes will dry up on their own.

The market may whisper, “Here’s what will sell best.”
But God knows the path that will stand every test.
He knows what the readers don’t yet understand.
He will craft new wonders by his own hand.

So listen in prayer for the words you should write,
Not chasing the flash of the market’s bright light.
Stay true to the vision that Heaven imparts—
For timeless words flow from yielded hearts.

The trends may be noisy, but truth has a song,
And God’s inspiration will carry you along.
Write whatever he whispers. Be faithful and bold—
And watch as your stories shine brighter than gold.
