Trust Is a Must

Relax and be patient, knowing that God is in control. Don’t think he is unjust when people are allowed to prosper in their evil deeds for a while. — Psalm 37:7 The Discussion Bible

When life feels quite good, it’s easy to say,
“I trust in the Lord every step of the way.”
But when storms rumble and plans go awry,
Faith starts to tremble, and questions fly high.

“Is God able? Is he willing? Is he even near?”
In the silence, our hearts can begin to fear.
Trust isn’t magic or blind, or just wishful fluff.
It’s knowing God’s unfailing nature is enough.

We cling to our dreams with a grip iron-tight,
Then wonder why peace doesn’t come at night.
Yet when we give up what we wanted so much,
We find that what he gives has his loving touch.

For trusting means dying to “I want my way,”
And surrendering to whatever he has to say.
Like seeds in the soil that vanish from sight,
We rise in joy when his way becomes our delight.

When Joseph was trapped in prison cold and bare,
He trusted that God had a purpose even there.
Peter wept bitterly when his courage withdrew,
But he found Jesus still faithful, forgiving, and true.

God’s timing feels strange when the wait is long,
But patience and promise will steady our song.
He’s weaving the threads we can’t see from below.
No moment is wasted. We must let his plan grow.

The path may seem twisted, the road steep and odd,
But accidents? That can’t be. Not once with God.
He sees every twist and turn, from beginning to end,
And he makes heartache and hope mysteriously blend.

Draw close in prayer, for that’s where you’ll find
The peace that will calm the storms of your mind.
When whispers of worry are stealing your rest,
Remember—God’s timing and plan are still the best.

Let go of your paddles. Lift your sails toward the sky.
Catch the wind of God’s Spirit as he carries you high.
For trust is not passive, fearful, or small.
It’s living like Jesus—surrendering all.
