Led by the Spirit

The Lord of our lives is the Holy Spirit, and when he is leading us, we are set free from any concern about wrongdoing. We have a single focus on what he shows us is right. — 2 Corinthians 3:17 The Discussion Bible

When the Spirit is leading, I wonder where I’m going,
But I don’t have to worry, for God is all-knowing.
Where the Spirit is present, there’s freedom and light,
And guidance to show me what is loving and right.

The Law came with rules about right and wrong,
But Grace came to whisper, “Sing a new song.
With no shackles or striving or reputation to earn,
Just walk in obedience, doing good at every turn.”

The Spirit is like a compass pointing God’s way.
He brightens my morning and strengthens my day.
He teaches through whispers, with peace all along,
Showing me what’s right, which avoids all the wrong.

So I’ll strive to follow him, going wherever he goes,
Through sunshine and shadow, through highs and lows.
For freedom is found wherever the Spirit will be.
He’s the Lord of my heart, the One who sets me free.
