There once was a man with a satisfied grin,
Who said, “I’m doing fine, okay with a little sin.
I’m basically good. I’ve climbed high enough.”
But his ladder was leaning on comfort and fluff.
He planted no seeds, for the dry soil looked still,
He said, “I’ll be okay. It’s just part of God’s will.”
But faith without action, as James would agree,
Is like roots with no water beneath the old tree.
God said, “I’m still at work. Don’t nap in your pride.
I’m shaping your world. Let my presence be your guide.
Behold, I make new things, as the prophet did write.
But you’ll miss the sunrise if you sleep past the night.”
Complacency whispers, “Relax, take a seat.
Why polish your heart when it’s almost complete?”
But Jesus reminds us in words bold and true,
“The harvest is ready. There’s work left to do.”
Apathetic hearts say, “We just don’t care.”
Complacent ones say, “We’re almost there.”
Yet both miss the joy of the Spirit’s design—
The thrill of God’s purpose, the spark of divine.
Patience keeps waiting, but it never stands still.
It plows while it’s praying and trusting God’s will.
Complacency snoozes and calls it sweet peace,
But patience keeps moving for growth’s release.
So rise in God’s miracles from glory to glory.
You should strive to be part of his wonderful story.
The Potter’s still molding. The Author still writes.
He wants to turn your dull days into radiant lights.
God’s not yet finished, for his hands never rest.
He shapes every moment to bring out your best.
So don’t say, “I’m fine,” or “Enough, I’ve arrived.”
Keep walking with God—and stay fully alive.
