Will for a Thrill

“My food,” Jesus said, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to complete his work. — John 4:34 The Discussion Bible

The thrill that we seek isn’t found in a toy.
It’s doing God’s will that brings lasting joy—
Not chasing our wishes or wanting our way,
But walking with him every moment of the day.

“My food,” Jesus said, “is to do what God asks.”
Finishing the work called brought ongoing tasks.
Obedience fed him with many thrills inside.
It gave him the strength and the joy to abide.

Now think of a mountain, so rugged and tall.
Each step is a struggle. You might slip and fall.
But the higher you climb, the more you can see,
The stronger, braver, and more thrilled you’ll be.

So follow God’s will when the pathway is steep,
For blessings are sown in the steps that you keep.
The climb may be hard, but the view is so sweet,
For joy in the Lord makes the thrill complete.
