Designed Strength

In everything you say and do, avoid complaining and arguing that conditions should be different. — Philippians 2:14 The Discussion Bible

When trials and troubles come tumbling our way,
We hope for the sunshine but darkness wants to stay.
The tests seem so difficult, the questions unclear,
Yet God whispers softly, “My presence is here.”

We grumble, we mumble, we fuss and complain,
But that only deepens our worry and strain.
When we drop the complaining and give thanks instead,
New strength fills our spirit, fresh hope in our heads.

We may think we know answers. We may think we know best.
But wisdom from Heaven puts our knowledge to the test.
Job’s three friends had sayings that sounded so right,
Yet real truth came from God, who revealed greater light.

Jesus said, “My yoke is easy, my burden light,
So walk with me, and we’ll make it work, all right?
For weak ones grow stronger when leaning on me,
And blind ones gain sight when they trust what I see.”

Trials are not monsters we should fear or dread.
They’re lessons of trust in the path just ahead.
And when we surrender our heart, spirit, and mind,
We find in our weakness the strength he’s designed.
