Temptation Tug

You are subject to the same kinds of temptations as everybody else, but God is always faithful to those who rely on him. The choice is yours. He won’t allow temptation beyond what you can bear, but with your surrender to him, he will bring the victory. — 1 Corinthians 10:13 The Discussion Bible

Temptations will come. They’ll knock at your door.
They’ll and charm you, then promise you more.
They’ll dress up as fun or a shortcut to glee,
But they’re nothing but trouble—as soon you will see.

But don’t be alarmed. Don’t panic. Don’t hide,
For God is quite faithful. He’s right by your side.
You’re not by yourself. No, you’re not the first one.
Temptation’s old news under the sky’s bright sun.

He sees what you carry, the weight on your chest.
He knows when you’re tired and needing some rest.
He won’t let you crumble. He won’t let you break.
He gives you a choice with each move that you make.

So when you feel pulled by that sneaky old lie,
Lift up your eyes and send heaven a cry:
“Lord, I need help. Will you stand here with me?”
He’ll anchor your steps and will set your heart free.

He’ll give you a way and a path to break free,
Walking with you to your sweet victory.
So cling to his promise. Don’t fall for the scam.
God’s greater than every temptation or jam.
