Peace Prize

Those who receive the Lord’s teaching and correction are blessed with peace in tumultuous times while a grave is being dug for the wicked. — Psalm 94:12–13 The Discussion Bible

When troubles come stomping with thunder and roar,
And chaos comes knocking, and pounding your door,
Don’t fret, kind soul, and don’t wriggle or run.
There’s peace to be found in the light of the Son.

The ones who are taught by the Lord from above
Get lessons in justice, correction, and love.
They’re shaped by his hand when the world goes askew,
And they’re blessed with a calm that is deep, strong, and true.

While others may scoff and go digging their holes,
Ignoring the whispers that tug at the souls,
The Lord is still teaching, still reaching, still near—
To anchor their hearts when the storm clouds appear.

A grave may be waiting for the wicked so proud,
But peace is a pillow, soft, quiet, and unbowed.
So listen, my child, when God speaks to you.
His peace is the prize for his teaching is true.
